This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for the Indie Pass subscription and its tiers (the AI Trend Analytics add-on and Spotlight). It forms part of our Terms of Service. Our goal is to be fair and clear: you can cancel anytime, your access runs to the end of the period you paid for, and your statutory consumer rights always apply.
All billing for the Service is handled by Paddle, our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle is the seller of record, issues your invoices, and processes any refunds.
1. Cancel Anytime
The Indie Pass is a monthly, auto-renewing subscription. You may cancel at any time, with no cancellation fee. When you cancel:
- your subscription does not renew for the next period;
- your access to paid features continues until the end of the current paid period; and
- you will not be charged again unless you re-subscribe.
2. How to Cancel
You can cancel in either of these ways:
- through the Paddle customer portal, using the link in your purchase receipt or from your account; or
- by emailing us at [email protected] and we will help.
Cancelling stops future renewals. To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel before your renewal date — your next charge date is always shown in the Paddle customer portal.
3. Refunds for Time Already Used
The Indie Pass gives you immediate, ongoing access to digital content and features the moment you subscribe. For that reason, we do not offer partial or pro-rated refunds for time already elapsed in a period you have paid for, and there is no general money-back guarantee, except for the goodwill window described below. This does not affect the rights described in Sections 4, 5, and 6, and it does not affect your statutory consumer rights, which always apply (Section 5).
3.1. Goodwill Refund Window
As a matter of goodwill, if you subscribe and decide within 48 hours of your initial purchase that the Indie Pass is not for you, contact us at [email protected] and we will arrange a refund through Paddle. This applies to your first-ever Indie Pass subscription only and does not apply to subsequent re-subscriptions, upgrades, add-on purchases, or renewals. We offer this as a confidence measure so you can try the paid features with peace of mind — it goes beyond your statutory rights and does not limit them.
4. Discretionary and Error Refunds
Beyond your statutory rights, we review refund requests case by case through support and Paddle, and may grant a refund in situations such as:
- a duplicate charge caused by a technical error; or
- a charge confirmed to result from fraud (for example, an unauthorized use of your payment method).
To raise a request, email [email protected] or use the link in your Paddle receipt. We aim to respond quickly and work with Paddle to resolve genuine issues fairly.
5. Your Statutory Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any non-waivable rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law.
- EU / EEA / UK 14-day withdrawal. If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA, or UK, you normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason. Because the Indie Pass provides digital content and services that begin immediately, by purchasing and gaining immediate access you expressly request that we begin performance during the 14-day withdrawal period and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once performance has begun, to the extent permitted by applicable law. Paddle presents this request and acknowledgment to you at checkout. Where a valid right of withdrawal still applies, Paddle processes any refund due.
- Faulty or mis-described service. Where a digital service is faulty, not as described, or not supplied with reasonable care and skill, you are entitled to a remedy — which may include a repair, a price reduction, or a refund — as required by applicable consumer law. These remedies are in addition to anything in this policy.
6. If We Cancel Without Cause
If we discontinue the Service or end your paid subscription for reasons not caused by your breach or misconduct, we will give reasonable notice and arrange, through Paddle, a pro-rata refund of the unused, pre-paid portion of your current period. (Termination for cause — for violations of the Terms or Acceptable Use rules — does not entitle you to a refund, except where required by law. See Terms Section 12.)
7. How Refunds Are Processed
Any approved refund is processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record, to your original payment method. Processing times depend on your bank or card issuer. Invoices, receipts, and refund confirmations are issued by Paddle to the email you used at checkout.
